John Lyons joined GM Ventures as an Associate in December 2022.
John began working in engineering product development at General Motors in 2010. He has held a variety of roles working on lithium-ion batteries including physics-based cell analyst, pack structural analyst, component design release engineer, battery pack lead engineer, and battery systems engineer. He has a proven track record of product launch, most recently working on the Hummer and Silverado EV battery packs.
John holds a Bachelor of Science in Engineering degree in Mechanical Engineering and a Master of Engineering degree in Energy Systems Engineering from the University of Michigan. He has a design for six sigma black belt from the University of Michigan, and a certificate in architecture and systems engineering from MIT. He obtained an Executive MBA from Quantic School of Business and Technology in December 2022.
